We are so proud of our 2011 CMC Team who participated in the 20th Annual Run/Walk for the Cure on Sunday October 2, 2011. We braved cold, windy and wet weather to join in and had teams participating in both Toronto and Montreal.
Congratulations to our team not only for their efforts on the big day, but also in raising a grand total of $6,303 to support Breast Cancer Research. A big shout out and thanks to all those who supported us in exceeding our fundraising goal. We can’t wait until next year!
The Run for the Cure is a volunteer-led event that started in 1992 by Andrea Thomas Hill. In its first year, this event drew in 1,500 participants and raised $85,000 for breast cancer research. Since then, more than 1,000,000 participants have participated in the Run for the Cure raising millions of dollars in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s vision of a future free of breast cancer. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation is a leader in funding research, education and awareness programs and improving the quality of life for those affected by breast cancer. This volunteer-based organization works collaboratively to fund and support relevant and innovative research, meaningful education and awareness programs, early diagnosis and effective treatment, and a positive quality of life for those living with breast cancer.
" I enjoyed the interaction. It was a very good opportunity to exchange on the different subject that we touched. "
" I liked the fact that everybody that attended had the same problems and as a group, we discussed ways that we would handle them when we got back to the office. It gave you a good perspective on how to handle problems. "
" What I liked most about this course was the instructor because she made what can potentially be perceived as "fluffy" material very interesting by way of how she delivered the material. She used good examples and due to her vast experience in the field (and in delivering such courses, I'm sure) she was able to spontaneously come up with good suggestions as to how to handle specific situations the class questioned her on. "
" The seminar was very interactive - lots of hands on training. "
" Course material was very organized and easy to read. It will be a good resource in the future. The course leader was very knowledgeable and personable. "
" I found the course interesting and progressive in its approach to explaining a fairly dry topic. "
" I felt confident before the course and now I feel even much better while knowing the recipe and the rationale of the win-win negotiation parties. "
" I felt that the topics that were covered were extremely helpful because I would be able to apply these skills immediately. "
" I appreciate the amount of information I can immediately put to use in the workplace. "
" Networking with other financial professionals provided valuable information and insight into specific issues and suggested resolutions. In addition, information on web sites and other information resources was helpful. "
