Aaron Sandoski on How the Wise Decide

By Aaron Sandoski

Running Time: 15 minutes, 33 seconds

Aaron Sandoski is the managing director of Norwich Ventures, a medical device venture capital firm. Aaron began his professional career with the consulting firm McKinsey & Company and has also been a teaching fellow at Harvard University, where he won the Allyn Young Teaching Prize.

During this podcast Aaron will review his new book "How the Wise Decide: The Lessons of 21 Extraordinary Leaders" which he co-authored by Bryn Zeckhauser. Aaron suggests that effective leaders not only make better calls, but they are able to discern the really important ones and get a higher percentage of them right. They excel at seeing the need for a call, framing issues, figuring out what is critical, and mobilizing employees.

During this interview Aaron explains that all of the leaders profiled in his book may have been different in terms of their personality and leadership style, but what they all had in common was the ability to make "tough calls" and these “tough calls” were based six core decision-making principles.
