Overall very beneficial training program.Janet was excellent - she knew the material very well - had a great format for discussion and instruction - knew when to take breaks, how to coordinate groups and was great at navigating zoom.I think the workbook is a great resource to keep for future reference. There are a few places it could be updated, but think its great and liked that you could enter notes into it.I thought all the exercises and presentations were really relevant and useful. The technology over zoom for slides was a lot to navigate for some, and you did not have a ton of times to work on slides. I think for some presentations, the time was used more for slides instead of script and practice. I would recommend only one major presentation with slides. I think we could have done the final presentation without slides and just focus on delivery and Q & A.Janet was very skilled at delivering feedback. I feel the participants were fortunate to have such rich, specific and thoughtful comments on how to improve. She was also very encouraging and provided a safe and welcoming environment to try things out and take risks. I learned a lot of valuable tools that I will implement in my future presentations - thank you!Also, Whitney was very helpful in determining which course to take, and ensuring I could move the date when I had to reschedule and helping me to access the course materials. Overall, very positive experience with CMC.

I would have preferred spending 1 day on external finance reporting and 2 days on internal finance reporting/budgeting as opposed to the other way around. Aside from that, the content of the course was fantastic and will be very useful. Aadil is a great teacher and was able to convey concepts that otherwise might be difficult to understand.

Great course, great instructor. This topic is so deep that it is impossible to learn everything in 3 days. AAdil did a very good job of setting up a good context for all of the information so that I can dig in deeper on my own given my high-level understanding of how things work . The only thing that I didn't like was day 2's tour of the financial statements from Johnson and Johnson. We spent waaaay too much time on that and it was mostly unimportant information. Better to chop that section down by a lot and spend more time on the day 3 content. I put these in the other comment box! Aadil did a great job of communicating the information, it's relevance, and teh bigger picture context. The stories and examples were interesting and kept me engaged. Really interesting for getting a high-level understanding of the world of finance and accounting.

Aadil is a very dynamic teacher. With a dry topic such as accounting I was nervous the facilitator would be boring and just reading through slides or the workbook. Aadil was the complete opposite and despite it being his first course at CMC you could tell he really just KNOWS the material from his personal and professional experience. He was very personable and approachable. I felt very comfortable asking questions. He used real life example and analogies to reinforce the lessons in the course material and explained how the outdated material has been updated. Great course to get a handle on the basic terminology used in finance and accounting.

The instructor (Kim Scott) was great; she made the course material relatable to our experiences, and kept the class engaged. The course book would have been enhanced by separate worksheets (rather than flipping through pages of the book, back and forth, to complete activities with information contained elsewhere in the book; more space for notes within the book). Also, with current technology, could have been suggested we bring our laptops and could have done calculations in Excel etc rather than pencil, paper and calculator. Kim was relatable and ensured we understood the concepts being taught. She kept the class engaged.

The instructor was using a different version of the notebook so we were never on the same page; there was content in the workbook that is out of date (CICA vs CPA). The instructor had us do an exercise before we had reviewed the content so the class was confused about how we could do an exercise on something that hadn't been covered. She was very knowledgeable on the subject; however, her teaching style did not complement my learning style so I wouldn't say I was completely engaged over the three days.

The content of this course was a great introduction to financial accounting! Caroline was engaging and positive. You can tell that she has a clear passion for the content.Caroline was a great facilitator! It may be useful for participants to take an aptitude survey in advance to ensure that they are registered for the appropriate course. Some participants who were clearly not beginners to financial accounting disrupted Caroline's teaching and took away from the course.

I wasn't sure what to expect with the course but I was very happy with the course material covered. I believe it covered all the important areas that I was hoping for except for budgets but I understand that budgeting is another course on it's own that can be taken. It was clear and to the point. The course material will also be a valuable resource and reference. Jason was amazing. He is incredibly knowledgeable and insightful about the course subject. His teaching style and delivery were outstanding. He had my full attention for every minute of the 3 days. He had an excellent rapport with the students and was able to relate much of the material and concepts to everyday work situations. He really brought the material to life. He is obviously very passionate about the subject and it shows through in his ability to hold the class' attention. Learning from Jason was a great experience and has inspired me to follow up on what I've learned from him.I really feel that the course and experience was well worth the time and money. I can't say enough about how much Jason brought to the whole experience.

The course itself is challenging to cover in 3 days especially for a non financial manager, but was a good overview. Difficult to find relevance to the work place but may use it sometime in the future. Jason is an excellent communicator. Definitely recommend him. He went out of his way to ensure the class was engaged at all times and had a vast amount of knowledge that he was able to pass on to us in the short time we had. The hotel setting was average. The food wasn't too great - same meal everyday. No breakfast bagels or muffins. Would have been a nice touch, considering the location changed last minute.

Facilitator jumped around too much and we could not follow him in the book and he also assumed we always knew what he was talking about. The vast majority of the class had no finical experience. I would suggest that the course was put on the overhead projector so everyone could follow

I think this course could have easily been condensed into 2 days. I personally think that examples/exercises could have been a bit more catered to the audience. For example, 5 of the 6 people were from a pipeline company and all the examples, material were for manufacturing companies. I also think I would have rated this course a lot higher if they would have used a relevant Annual Report.
Day one and 3 were much better than Day 2. I think the facilitator was very good when she had slides to refer to. But read straight from the book when there were no slides for Module 4 and 5 I think it was. One suggestion that I can make is that the facilitator review the company the students are with before hand and try to bring in examples that the students can relate to.

If I could use it as a copyright protected reference on my laptop that would be great. This is a major flaw in the material provided and a potential deal breaker to use AMA in the future.

I appreciate the accommodation to my participation (having a visual impairment) - the material was in large enough print that I have no difficulty following. Although I was not able to see the flip chart work, the instructor verbal delivery was right on so that was welcome and I wasn't at a disadvantage at all. In terms of course content, the benefit to me within my work was peripheral - corporate finance for the most part and very limited in terms of the non-profit sector which I work within. I did enjoy what was covered and surprisingly I learned quite a lot.
I like the style and intensity of course delivery.
I admire the facilitator's passion for what he does, and he does it very well.

Jason is an amazing instructor - he was able to articulate complex subject matter in a digestible way. He is also funny and engaging. It was a pleasure to work with and learn from him.

Excellent Course, however I felt overwhelmed at the amount of information condensed into a few days. The Facilitator of this course was a wealth of knowledge and a finance machine. His explanations were simplistic and relatable.

Was well paced and covered a lot of material without being overwhelming. Jason most definitely knows the content and has deep accounting/finance knowledge which he can impart clearly - ensuring that the students understand before moving on to the next concept.

Great combination of technical knowledge and real life application. The instructor kept it interesting. It's alot of material to cover in three days particularly if you do not have a strong finance background. Very engaging, knowledgeable, in tune with the participants on pace, and ensurethat everone undertands the concepts.
