A Perspective on Leadership

Sometimes we learn best from the experience of others.

It's a hallmark of adult learning principles. We bring our pervious experiences, personal and professional, to bear on new learning. In fact, we learn best when our new learning is linked to or built upon these past experiences. The same is true in leadership. We've all had leaders we've admired and I'm sure, we've all had leaders who have taught us what not to do. But, in both cases, we've learned from them and the experience we gained is what has contributed to shaping who we are as leaders today.
