CMC is an independent, third-party Canadian training provider, which is a requirement under some programs. However, Canada does not have a single national approval that makes CMC eligible for every program. Some jurisdictions impose additional requirements concerning provider location, registration, qualifications or training type. The relevant funding authority must determine whether CMC and the proposed course meet its current requirements.

It depends on the program and the course. Some programs support management or leadership training linked to specific workforce and business outcomes. Employers should provide the funding authority with the specific CMC course outline rather than relying on the course category or title alone.

Some programs accept live instructor-led virtual training. Requirements concerning the provider’s location, the employee’s location, instructor interaction and course content may still apply.

Application timing varies. Employers should review the official program rules before registering, paying for or beginning training. Starting too early may make the training ineligible or leave the employer responsible for the full cost if the application is not approved.
