Alexandra Levit's new book Humanity Works explores ways that business leaders, managers, and ambitious people, in general, can prepare for the near future. She points to three domains of change: collaboration, customization and creativity. Using virtual tools, remote collaborators are quickly forming the relationships needed to solve focused problems. Careers paths are becoming customized to an individual’s talents, opportunities and desires. This drives a move toward entrepreneurial flourishing and presses employers to develop flexible relationships with contractors and employees. In order to integrate new technologies and expertise, we need to be creative about implementation. Social reputation, moral considerations, empathetic understanding all need to be combined with an understanding of what tools are out there and what technology can do to maximize our ability to provide the best for our clients.
