1. Assume that you don’t know the answer, insight or reaction you’re going to get;
2. Accept that the other person’s reality and perspective can be different than yours;
3. Ask the questions with genuine curiosity… no judgment;
4. Listen actively, probe for clarity and check/your understanding.
