Frequently Asked Questions

Why does hybrid work create more friction than people expect, even when the team is capable?

Because hybrid work removes a lot of the informal clarity teams used to rely on. People miss context, make more assumptions, and have fewer chances to correct misunderstandings in real time. This course helps you work more effectively in that environment by strengthening communication habits, team expectations, trust, and day-to-day coordination across office and remote settings.

I sometimes hear things later than others, miss side conversations, or feel less visible than people who are in the office more often. Is that just part of hybrid work?

It is common, but it should not be treated as inevitable. In hybrid teams, visibility can quietly shape trust, access, and influence, even when no one intends it to. This course helps you recognize those patterns and respond more deliberately so you can build stronger working relationships, communicate more effectively, and avoid being left out of the flow of the work.

Our hybrid meetings are not a complete mess, but they are draining, uneven, and easy to lose control of. What is usually going wrong?

Usually it is not one major problem. It is a buildup of smaller ones, unclear preparation, weak participation, side conversations, poor audio, vague next steps, and information that never gets shared equally afterward. This course helps participants get better at the meeting habits that make hybrid collaboration more focused, inclusive, and easier to follow through on.

We are polite and reasonably productive as a team, but I would not say there is strong trust. Can this course help with something that subtle?

Yes. In hybrid work, trust often breaks down quietly, through missed follow-up, unclear commitments, inconsistent communication, or people not checking for understanding. This course helps you see trust less as a personality trait and more as a pattern of behaviours that can be strengthened through clearer expectations, better follow-through, and more intentional ways of working together.

Some people on our team seem fully connected, while others are quietly out of sync or disengaged. What does that usually signal?

It often signals that the team is relying too much on informal habits and not enough on shared norms. When goals, communication expectations, decision-making, and relationship-building are left unspoken, hybrid teams become uneven very quickly. This course helps participants recognize those gaps and contribute to a more consistent, better-functioning team environment.

We do not need manager training, but we do need people to work together more consistently across office and remote settings. Is this a better fit than Leading Hybrid Teams?

Yes. This course is the better fit when the challenge sits in everyday hybrid participation, communication, coordination, and inclusion across the team. Leading Hybrid Teams is the stronger choice when the core need is leader-led direction, team design, and managing performance across a hybrid team.
