You’ve probably sent a perfectly reasonable request and still had to follow up.
Sometimes the issue isn’t the request itself. The other person may still be trying to figure out why it matters, why you need their input or what you expect them to do next.
Before you ask, consider four questions
- What do I need?
- Why does it matter?
- Why does their help matter?
- What is the clearest next step?
A little more context can make a request easier to understand and easier to act on. The goal isn’t to pressure someone into agreeing. It’s to give them enough information to respond.
Better ask. Better conversation. Stronger results.
